The records keep piling up – records no one wants to see.
We’ve just had the hottest summer on record. The world saw its hottest day ever. We had three days in a row when much of North America was blanketed in wildfire smoke. And the advent of fall hasn’t seen this trend slow at all.
In Ontario the unseasonably warm summer weather has continued, making this September the warmest ever and putting 2023 on track to be the hottest year ever.
The climate alarms ring louder every day but the Ford government still isn’t getting the message. This government continues to ignore cheap, safe renewables while ramping up fossil gas generation and doubling down on a discredited car-dependent sprawl housing policy.
Tell Doug Ford we need a real climate plan.
The Ford government has completely ignored the Provincial Climate Change Impact Assessment which lays out what the future of Ontario looks like as temperatures keep rising. To avoid the worst of the effects we need to commit to lowering our carbon emissions.
Canada had an unprecedented number of wildfires this 2023 that destroyed property, huge ranges of our great forests and habitat for wildlife, and polluted the air across North American with health-endangering smoke.
It’s time we heed the warning and make the necessary changes to reduce our impact and prepare our communities for the future.
Join us and call on Ford to drop his gas plant obsession and develop a real climate plan.
