Robbie Robertson, known most for his work with the legendary rock group, The Band
As if we need any more sad news in a world weighed down with bad news these days, we learned this August 9th that Robbie Robertson, an iconic Indigenous musician born in Canada and heart and soul of the legendary group, The Band, has died at age 80.
Robbie Robinson was also The Band’s principle songwriter with such great songs as Up on Cripple Creek, The Night They Rolled Old Dixie Down and The Weight.
Songs like this will always keep Robbie Robertson alive.

Saw them many times at the Brass Rail in London On and then again in T.O when they had left the Hawk behind and struck out on their own in 1964 …. got to know them a bit more than many.
Bought Robertson’s solo recordings. Loved them.
Ah, only Garth is left standing. Sad.
