Niagara, Ontario – Ontario Works clients will be able to pick up their social assistance payments at Niagara Region Community Services offices.
The decision not to mail the monthly payments was made earlier this week due to the current labour disruption at Canada Post, which could have delayed payments.
Effective November 22, 2018
Ontario Works regular cheques will be available for pick up at local Community Services offices from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Effective November 29, 2018
Ontario Works monthly cheque for Dec. 2018 will be available for pick up at local Community Services offices from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Identification is required for cheque pick up.
For clients who receive their benefits through direct deposit, payments will continue to be deposited into their bank accounts.
Letters and direct deposit statements will continue to be mailed out in the regular mail service.
Cheques will be available for pick-up at the following offices:
- St. Catharines, 234 Bunting Rd.
- Niagara Falls, 5853 Peer St.
- Welland, 250 Thorold Rd.
- Port Colborne, 92 Charlotte St.
- Fort Erie, 469 Central Ave.
