Welland/Niagara, Ontario – Cindy Forster, MPP for the Niagara riding of Welland, is encouraging local schools and community and volunteer organizations across the Niagara region to identify nominees for the Leading Women Leading Girls Building Communities Recognition Program now underway.
This would include West St. Catharines, Thorold, Welland, Wainfleet, Port Colborne and everything in between. Nominations must be in by Friday, January 13, 2017.
Do you know of a woman or girl who is making a difference in your community?
Since the program was introduced in 2006, more than 650 women and girls across Ontario have been recognized for their leadership qualities.
Forster said “I am honoured to have the opportunity to recognize women across the Welland riding who are dedicated to community service and inspiring others.”
The Leading Women Building Communities Recognition Program is open to females 18 years or older at the time of nomination and not received this award in the past.
The Leading Girls Building Communities Recognition Program is open to females under 18 years of age at the time of nomination. I will be forwarding final nominations to the Minister Responsible for Woman’ s Issues for review.
