If you’re anything like us, then at some point you’ve found yourself staring out at the lake or sitting on a beach and feeling grateful for such a beautiful place.

We’re grateful for the people who keep the Great Lakes and their beaches clean, and in honor of Adopt-a-Beach’s 25th anniversary we’re thanking them.

We’ve set up a neat way to share thanks for all the Adopt-a-Beach volunteers and team leaders, and we want to give you a chance to send a thank you their way. Check it out, share a message, and see what other people are saying about our wonderful volunteers.

Thank you for caring about the Great Lakes and those who protect it!

Alliance for the Great Lakes

(A Brief Footnote from Doug Draper, publisher, Niagara At large & veteran environment reporter – It is fabulous to have this dedicated citizens coalition for our binational Great Lakes waters – however, much it is based in communities, including Buffalo, New York, on the American side of these vital waterbodies.

We could use more groups like this one and Riverkeepers dedicated to protecting and conserving our watersheds, in the Niagara area where the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority has morphed into a partisan agent for special interests, bent on “offsetting” wetlands and other natural features to make way for more sprawling urban development.)

About the Alliance for the Great Lakes – The Alliance for the Great Lakes works to protect the Great Lakes for today and tomorrow. We involve tens of thousands of people each year in advocacy, volunteering, education, and research to ensure the lakes are healthy and safe for all.

Our staff are headquartered in Chicago, with field offices in Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Grand Haven (Mich.), and Milwaukee. Our Board of Directors represent a wide range of interests and expertise from around the Great Lakes region.
