Hey Canada. Harper Is Out Of Here And It Is A New Dawn!

A Brief Message from NAL publisher Doug Draper

Thank God it is over.

Now let’s stay engaged as Canadian citizens in undoing the damage of the Harper era and rebuilding a country that is a beacon for peace, tolerance and prosperity and for all that is good in the world.

More on what we have to do together to collectively address the issues important to our lives and country later.julia victory image

  1. Although Trudeau wasn’t my first choice, I am more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. We all know politicians are indebted to their lobbyists and financiers but at least Trudeau might be a LITTLE less in the pockets of Bay Street. I think Harper’s nasty tactics were what lost it for him and turned people off. He has no one to blame but himself and he knows it. The other parties didn’t resort to slime ball means, slander and demeaning their opponents. Hopefully that will restore a little civility to Canada’s political scene and restore the people’s faith in the system.

One item Trudeau mentioned in the past was proportional representation. After seeing clowns like Nicholson get back in with a minority of votes and others across the country doing the same, such a move is overdue. The claim against it is always that we will have someone representing us that we didn’t vote for. Isn’t that what we’ve had for almost 10 years?

  2. No, but for the 3 Chrétien Majorities before that, we’ve had. Also, the cantankerous provincial party under the federal banner, Bloc Québécois, was the least enlightening as the official opposition.
