Former Lawyer In Harper’s PMO Says Conservatives No Longer Morally Fit To Govern

After being called everything from a ‘commie” and ‘ideologue’ to a ‘drunk’ whose ‘worse than Stalin’ who should leave Canada by some of the Harperites out there, I seem to share ground with more than a few significant others who also want Stephen Harper and his gang gone.

This one just recently came into circulation, and with hours left before the final polls open in this federal election, I want to make sure you have a chance to read it too It is a  statement from Benjamin Perrin, the former lawyer in Harper’s Prime Minister’s Office, and it goes  as follows – “Last week, I voted in an advance poll for change,” states Perrin

“As a lifelong conservative, I never thought that would happen. But after what I’ve personally seen and experienced, there was no other choice. The current government has lost its moral authority to govern.”

Amen.

Now a law professor at the University of British Columbia, Perrin worked in the PMO in 2012 and 2013 when Harper’s staff was wrestling over what to do about then Harper-appointed Senator Mike Duffy and his controversial expense claims.

This past summer, Perrin testified in a trial over Duffy’s expense claims that Harper had knowledge of a deal being cooked up to pay $90,000 of the expenses the Senator charged to taxpayers – testimony that clashed with Harper’s insistence on the campaign trail that he had no knowledge of how the deal was going down.

So there you are. The conclusion Perrin has arrived at, that the Harper Conservatives have lost their moral authority, is one more thing we can take to the polls this Monday, October 19^th.
