This Saturday – October 3rd – Join A Niagara, Ontario ‘Vote Together’ Rally Against Another Four Years Of Stephen Harper

A Brief Foreword from Niagara At Large

In Canada’s 2011 federal election, it only took 39 per cent of the popular vote – less than half of votes what the NDP, Liberals and Green Party received together – to make it possible for Stephen Harper and his goblins to win enough seats to run Canada like a dictatorship over the past four years.vote-together

Unless you enjoy watching this Harper regime systematically dismantle our democratic rights and freedoms as it slowly but surely turns Canada into a totalitarian state, this coming October 19th is your chance to get rid of (never mind foreign-inspired terrorists) this threat to our country’s health and security.

But you have to get out and VOTE in LARGE NUMBERS! And that means you younger meillenials out there who may have the most to lose if Harper gets another chance to go on poisoning the environment, outsourcing decent paying jobs with trade agreements drafted in the best interest of his tax-dodging corporate masters and otherwise leaving coming generations of Canadians with crumbs on the table.

In the spirit of booting out Harper and his toddies in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and other ridings currently held by Tories across the country, Niagara arearesidents are joining citizens across Canada in holding a rally this Saturday, October 3rd – this one in Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Simcoe Park across from the Prince of Wales Hotel.

Here is the media release for the rally –

NIAGARA FALLS/NIAGARA ON THE LAKE On Saturday, October 3rd, NIAGARA FALLS/NIAGARA ON THE LAKE will join 30 communities across Canada in a Vote Together Day of Action to rally voters to unite against the Harper Conservatives.

“A majority of voters want change this election, but our broken voting system splits our votes and distorts our democracy. In 2011, Harper won 100% of the power with just 39% of the vote. If we’re going to end 10 years of Harper rule, we need to vote together this time,” said Jolan Bailey, Leadnow.ca National Organizer.

Local event organizer, Linda Babb, said, “We’re joining the Vote Together Day of Action to get the word out about VoteTogether.ca — a website with tools and information to help voters unite behind the best local candidates who can defeat the Conservatives in their riding. If enough people join the campaign at VoteTogether.ca, we can unite a critical mass of voters to defeat Harper.”
