St. Catharines, Ontario, February, 2015 -Canada has become a “warrior state”, says pan-African socialist and peace scholar Horace Campbell, who will discuss that claim when he delivers the Dr. Morrison African Heritage Month lecture at Brock University this Friday afternoon, February. 27th.

Horace Campbell, professor of political sicne and African American studies, to speak on Canada’s lost status as a peacekeeper
His presentation — “Canada, NATO and Libya: Lessons for Africa” — will look at how Canada’s traditional role as a peacekeeping power has changed, thanks largely to its leadership in NATO’s bombing campaign during the Libyan civil war. Campbell will discuss Canada’s involvement “in a high-stakes game of normalizing war. “
While many in the West celebrated the Libya campaign as a success, the NATO role in which Canada played a large part resulted in many civilian deaths and destroyed Libya’s infrastructure, says Campbell, a professor of African American Studies at Syracuse University. The Brock African Heritage Recognition Committee is hosting this lecture, which is based on Campbell’s most recent book: NATO’s Failure in Libya: Lessons for Africa (2012).
The lecture will take place at Brock University and is open for all to attend.

Lester B. Pearson stellar role with the United Nations centered around his ability to preach Peace Keeping and make Canada a force for PEACE in a world where a CREED OF GREED and CORPORATE for PROFIT ENTITLEMENT became the agenda of certain Corporate owned Nations.
Most sane Nations in this world looked to Canada with respect and admiration for the PEACE KEEPING role played by our Military ….. In recent years It is depressing to see our young people coming home in body bags while our so called government postures like scavenger clones of war mongering nations.
Our so called elected representatives beat their chests and commit our youth to wars that Canada would never ever get involved with in the past and then treat the wounded and disabled with contempt and a complete lack of concern or caring. (It seems fitting that the Canadian Veterans Association is disgusted with the actions and/or lack of such when it comes to the indifference displayed by members of this government for the young and damaged who sacrificed so much)
God “HELP” Canada and bless those who gave so much to make this world a better and safer place to live….
