Growing numbers across Canada protest bombng of Gaza’s Palestinians. A ‘Gaza Solidarity’ rally is planned for Friday, July 25th in front of federal Conservative St. Catharines MP Rick Dykstra’s constituency office.
Manifest Destiny now extends overseas with the U.S Empire’s on-going embrace of the “might is right” doctrine, and its perpetuation of war crimes to advance imperial conquest.
Israel, a strong ally of Empire, is thought to be a spearhead for U.S hegemony in the Middle East, and the rules of international law and peace are being defied on a daily basis as Gaza shakes beneath the terror of daily bombardments.
Israel is defying U.N Resolution 242 , and the Fourth Geneva Convention every time a thousand pound fragmentation bomb shreds civilians, every time weaponized phosphorous rips through a toddler’s body, and in a myriad other ways.
Flowing from the tragedy of 9/11, and the concomitant conspiracy to protect the guilty; reinforced by the fraudulent, open-ended “War On Terror,” and the genocidal conquest of the Middle East, lies the black residue of the truth: illegal corporate profiteering.
As in the invasion of the Americas, starting in 1492, racism is an instrument of war, countries are divided and ruined, and the few are profiting to the detriment of the many.
Permanent war means military industrial complexes, and other instruments that support Death Inc., including corporate media, continue to blindly turn profits; it also means that the world is becoming further destabilized, and that trajectories toward peace, freedom, democracy, and globalized efforts to address imminent threats to life itself, continue to elude us.
The institutions and people who are perpetuating this evil are emboldened by layer upon layer of impunity, and their crimes are continuing.
Israel’s largely American-supplied war machine—though Canada is increasingly adding to the mix— is perpetuating the imperial cycle of conquest: a technologically advanced force is imposing its monstrous will on a vilified, relatively defenceless people.
The indigenous peoples being killed are the Palestinians; and the coveted commodity is gas. Israel’s illegal conquest and occupation in Gaza means that Israel — and the U.S, and Britain— will be able to control and own more ill-gotten resources as it further disempowers Gaza, which is currently not much more than a concentration camp.
The coveted riches – the Gaza Marine Reserves — are located well within Gaza’s territorial waters, but this hasn’t stopped the invaders.
A September 27, 2000 article, “Russia preparing to develop Gaza gas field,”uncovers the truth behind the lies. As early as 2000, Palestine chose to engage Russia as a possible developer of a resource whose revenues are valued from $6 to $7 billion per year.
As Naomi Wolf explains on her Facebook page: “… (the) Palestinian Authority committed the ultimate mistake, they tried to avoid doing “business” ie being held hostage economically, by US interests (and Israeli and British) … with their own chosen partners because it was their own resources — so — voila. This is an object lesson to any other such foolhardy heads of state…”
But it doesn’t end there. Dick Cheney is also making an entrance. Genie energy, now has “exclusive rights” to a 153 square mile radius of the Golan Heights, an area to which Israel’s administration is not recognized by international law.
Once again, Cheney is involved in illegal profiteering to advance corporate profits and U.S hegemony, contrary to the rule of international law.
And so the murderous cycle continues: Zionism, which is the antithesis of Judaism, is the new oppressor, the Palestinians are the new “Indians”, and the conquest for riches subordinates all considerations of humanity and the rule of law.
Predatory economic practices, welded to imperial war machines, continue to destroy liberties at home and abroad, and increasingly powerful transnational corporations are establishing the rules of the “game.”
The elites will continue to profit, as is the custom, but their ascendancy may well be short-lived. New threats, including man-made global warming, are imposing themselves on the world, and their reckless degeneracy may be forced to submit.
The parasitical corporate emperors are wearing no clothes.

The scarey thought, as I read Mark’s synopsis, is will the next Canadian election. Will it be honest and not further corrupted by corporate profiteers who admittedly favor the status quo? So often I have written these words “God Help Canada” knowing the abyss that the “Right Wing Peoples” have deliberately and knowingly caused this beautiful country to sink to as their God Harper goes about solidifying his Dictatorship. The late John Kenneth Galbraith’s statement rings like a beacon, a warning of the dire consequences fostered on the world by the Right Wing acceptance of Greed and their right to Entitlements.
His Quote;
“THE MODERN CONSERVATIVE IS ENGAGED IN ONE OF MAN’S OLDEST EXERCISES IN MORAL PHILOSOPHY; THAT IS, THE SEARCH FOR A SUPERIOR MORAL JUSTIFICATION FOR SELFISHNESS”
This from a great Canadian from Iona Ontario, a renowned Economist who, during the Great Depression of the Thirties, along with others assisted President Franklin D. Roosevelt in bringing back sanity to a nation where Greed and Material Entitlement had ran rampant.
Now as I read Mark’s statements I realize that the world’s so called “Elite” is even more corruptive than it was during that “Great Depression era” and there is NO Roosevelt to stem the tide of Greed and Entitlement.

“Racism is an instrument of war”. True. Humans are tribal creatures. Early in our genetic code this was needed for survival. Supposedly can’t change a leopard’s spots. Ironically, by DNA study, the people of the Middle East are the same “tribe”.
Darth Chaney cares only about $$$ as if he could take it with him. Amazing how doctors have kept the decrepit creep alive. The evil piece of shi! when asked about the donor of his heart transplant said, he didn’t even think about the donor, only that HE was allowed to & deserved to live. What a humanitarian! That sums up his attitude. Maybe he’s a real life Dorian Grey?
The other conflict dominating the news, Russia & the Malay airliner, is just the other side of the scales. The west threatens boycotts & sanctions. Toothless rhetoric. Russia provides most of Europe’s energy needs. Ain’t gonna’ happen.
With Emperor Harperius minus 40% “majority” government stance, how long before Canada becomes a victim of terrorism? Just think of the foiled plot to blow up the Niagara train bridge & train. He clings to US coattails for personal gain (read that Bay St/oil sands). Anyone who believes otherwise is a fool. Where are our potential Pearsons? Naming a bird santuary in Israel (as was done on his last 200+ person delegation at our expense) with his history of environmental gutting was insanely hypocritical! I assume many here know of the sound bite overheard by one of his cohorts while at the Wailing Wall – “With the election next year what a photo op!”. “Nuf said! Do we want to be peacemakers or contributors to evil who create people who hate us?
Israel is a state, created artificially by foreign powers (US & UK primarily, for the purpose of controlling the area – read what Churchill had to say about the entire Middle East & its inhabitants) that drove people from what they felt were THEIR ancestral lands. Since then it has repeatedly ignored treaties re nuclear weapons, humanitarian aid, boarding of ships carrying medical & food supplies including killing some humanitarian aid workers, building illegal settlements, etc. I wonder what would happen if some state blockaded Israel from supplies needed for life & health?
It MUST be emphasized that a government does NOT always reflect the wishes of its people. Even within Israel (as well as amongst Jews abroad) there is much dissension over the behaviour of Israel’s leaders. Unfortunately, with the urging of the US & now (to my shame) Canada, Israel is being supplied with weaponry & BILLIONS annually in aid primarily for the purposes of – #1 – Feeding the coffers of the military industrial complex & – #2 – Maintaining the US Empire in influence, propaganda & resources. Of course it also maintains the existence of the Israeli state but that is not the sole reason. When a life long soldier like Eisenhower says “beware the military industrial complex” it might be wise to listen.
Again I must emphasize that I do not blame the average citizens of Palestine or Israel but rather the leaders. The Terrorists of Hamas are evil. Netanyahu & his government, primarily ex military, are hawks who do not represent all Israelis & seem all to eager to invade & bomb. The CITIZENS of both countries must take control from these individuals & demand peace & discussion to reach a consensus. I recall being in Egypt when the Camp David accord was reached. The atmosphere throughout the land was one of unbridled joy. The average Egyptian cared nothing about Arabs or Jews as such. They just wanted to farm their land, sell their wares & live in PEACE. I’m sure that’s what the average Palestinian & Israeli wants as well. It’s not the people who are to blame but the leaders. As a friend says, it’s not the puppet to fear but the hand inside the puppet. Every conflict in human history has supposedly been altruistic but underneath there are often darker agendas.
Since its inception, the US has had a “Manifest Destiny” attitude & deemed themselves “special”. They have been involved in some war for half of my lifetime. What a proud record.
The US, UK & others, with some of their policies, currently are equal to any “Axis of Evil” proclaimed by Dubya. Do Canadians really want us to join that group? It’s time worldwide for the people to demand that their governments be responsible to the majority wishes, not to the economic & political machinations of the few. Sadly, that has seldom happened in human history.

What a bunch of crappola. It never ceases to amaze me how the most vocal will always support mainstream terrorism and side in against Israel and the so-called Western supporters. Sure, it’s the “good guys” who hide their fighters in the schools and churches and then cry about collateral damage when innocents die. This seems to be a common strategy among all of the terrorist-based nations, but it is always forgiven, or the negative results are blamed on the “other guy”. Pin-point bombing can never be accurate enough under those circumstances, but it’s always okay for Hamas to continuously launch hundreds of missiles anywhere they want on Israeli soil, especially targeting larger civilian concentrations. Whose coattails would you prefer to cling to? I’d take the U.S. every time. If you want to ally with China, that’s fine, but I don’t think they would be so kind as a neighbour or as an annexing nation. Once enslaved, you might think upon the good old days with fond reminiscence…

Amen, Will MacKenzie. I didn’t know there was anyone else out there in the wilderness. The Muslim extremists remain the Number One threat to world peace, and will sabotage this planet’s citizens any way they can, under their mandate of crushing “infidels”, ie. anyone who is not a Muslim, and especially anyone connected with Israel (a.k.a. the Zionists), either politically, or in the big picture, by faith. Indeed it is a dangerous world we live in. “Live and let live” has taken a back seat everywhere, and it behooves us to be vigilant, and use preventative maintenance wherever possible.

Dear Will – I suggest you do some reading about the definition of a Semite:
Semites include a large family of descendants of Western Asian origin including those in lands currently Saudi Arabia, NE Africa, & all the Middle East. As I said, these people are all the same racial origin. This included Akkadians, Phoenicians, Hebrews, Arabs & their descendants. Therefore, I strongly suggest you pick up a history book & read it before you hatefully call others names. NOWHERE here did I express hate to the citizens of either Israel or Palestine. The governments (Hamas & Netanyahu, not so much love).
Please feel free to point out explicitly where I said in “hate” Jews. I specifically said I believe BOTH Israelis & Palestinians want peace. The ones who do not are the governments & terrorists. If that somehow makes me “anti Semititc” (as you do not even know the derivation of the world), I would be EXTREMELY surprised. I accept your apology in advance.
There are currently myriad petitions out there by Jewish citizens in Israel & abroad, some initiated by Rabbis in fact, to stop the bloodshed. Would you call THEM anti Semitic.
I am PRO HUMANITY. The fighting must stop & can only do so if we stop taking sides & listen to grievances on both sides. If the common people on both sides of the fence can feel safe & secure they will eliminate the terrorists themselves. Terrorism needs nourishment to grow & hatred & fear is like a buffet.

As a non believer, that is what many wars throughout history have been about – “some guy who claimed to be a prophet”. The Crusades, Inquisition, burning at the stake of “heretics”. My god is right. Your god is false. Humans are stupid, selfish creatures who fear anyone who thinks differently from themselves.
There, now I’ve opened a whole new can of worms re religions so someone can attack me in the name of peace & love – my butt! It is the rational people in the world who ignore the so called prophets & use common sense instead of hate that are the hope that humanity can wise up & stop fighting over “beliefs”.
Now I’ll sit back & anticipate the hate.

As an afterthought (had to mow the lawn since last posting) calling someone anti Semitic or ANY such slur is SO easy isn’t it? Backing it up is a very different situation. How about if I called someone here a Nazi or some other derogatory term? Easy to do, hard to prove & even harder for the accused to defend themself. There is no defence against such slander, and it is slanderous, other than to deny it.
Accusing someone of such a stance, particularly without foundation, is actually considered hate speech itself under the criminal code of Canada and an abrogation of that accused person’s rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights. Think about that.
