News from the Campaign Office of Welland Riding MPP and NDP candidate Cindy Forster
Welland, Ontario, June 2nd, 2014 – Today Cindy Forster, NDP incumbent candidate for Welland, wants answers on Hudak’s plan to fire new mothers on maternity leave.
Foster, a registered nurse and past mayor has been very critical of the Conservatives jobs plan that will fire 5,300 firefighters, teachers, and healthcare workers in the Welland – Niagara region.
“The PC’s made their position clear on the Sun News Network that mothers on maternity leave would also be targeted for termination or attrition. This is an attack on women, pure and simple. First he plans to cut 5,300 vital jobs from this community and now he’s coming after new moms too,” said Forster.
Forster said she is deeply concerned about the profound impact this would have on new mothers in her community. The proposed PC plan to cut 100,000 jobs would already see the unemployment rate in Welland – Niagara region jump into double digits.
“Being a new mom is stressful enough and in these tough economic times and forcing a new mom out of her job is simply cruel and unusual punishment,” Forster said. “Voters deserve to know exactly where the parties stand and clearly a vote for Tim Hudak is a vote against women.”

OMGod. When is this nonsense EVER going to stop? Hudak NEVER said he was going to fire young mothers. Can’t these people ever tell the truth? The jobs will be phased out over several years, through attrition. Attrition!! Someone tell Forster to Google it and educate herself a bit. I’m so tired of the lies that are just being repeated over and over again during this election. Can NO ONE tell the truth anymore or is it just not in their DNA?

Donna I think you are still fighting the wind mill if you think Hudak cares about you and your family……… He is backed by the American Repub……..oops Tea Part…..Oops Well at least they are writing his party platform….
John Kenneth Galbraith is quoted
“The modern Conservative is engaged in man;s oldest
exercise in moral philosophy; That is, The search for a
Superior moral justification for selfishness”
These were his words NOT mine but the truth RINGS loud and clear

keep tea-party Tim out – U.S. Conservatives are doing all they can to mess up Canada and Tim is their tool. My Canada cares about people not multi-national corporations with their trickle down theories. These corporations are good at claiming we’re broke – while they fill their pockets at our expense. Keep Canada Canadian.

Thank You Ray
I feel the same way about Canada and want to keep our Country Canadian….
“ANY” Party Liberal, Conservative or NDP that aligns themselves with foreign Corporate Entities, such as the ” American Republican Party or their off shoot the American Tea Party” should lose their status as a political Party within the parliamentary rites of Canada.
This News Media has reported that Hudak, leader of the Provincial Conservative party recently attended a meeting in Washington where the Provincial election was the agenda’s sole purpose. That he, Hudak was offered and apparently accepted the services of an Economist who is an active member of the American Enterprise Institute, a very “Right Wing” group with monetary as well as political attachments to the Fraser Institute. Apparently much of the funding for these “Very Right Wing Think Tank Organizations” comes from the coffers of the Koch Brothers.
It seems Hudak’s pie in the sky and cut, cut and gut Party platform was probably orchestrated and fine tuned by this person from this American Think Tank.
I DO NOT WANT TO BE AN AMERICAN ……AND ….. I MOST ASSUREDLY DO NOT WANT THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT EXPORTING THEIR CORRUPT POLITICAL AGENDA INTO CANADA.
THUS
THE SOONER WE GET RID OF HARPER/HUDAK AND HIS GOONS THE SOONER WE CAN BE ONCE AGAIN PROUD OF OUR COUNTRY
As Ralph Nader once said;
“IT MATTERS NOT WHICH PARTY ONE VOTES FOR DEMOCRAT OF REPUBLICAN ….THE ARE BOTH CORPORATE OWNED AND CONTROLLED PARTIES” and are there for one reason to facilitate the wishes of their masters and owners.
As John K. Galbraith, Economist once said and I quote
“THE MODERN CONSERVATIVE IS ENGAGED IN ONE OF MAN’S OLDEST EXERCISES IN MORAL PHILOSOPHY; THAT IS, THE SEARCH FOR A SUPERIOR MORAL JUSTIFICATION FOR SELFISHNESS”………..Amen

Good question, Donna. The DNA seems to have a common thread of cross-wiring, and causes stereotypical reactionary paranoia, especially when it seems their handouts are suddenly perceived as possibly disappearing. I see we have a steady Ralph Nader fan in Joseph Somers here, and that’s not all bad.
I was once a Reform Party member and fan of Preston Manning (Remember “Let’s get politicians out of Ottawa”?) and Ross Perot in the U.S. I always figured the mainstream parties had their big corporations or lobby groups to satisfy and I was looking for a “representative” more than a “leader”. Hence the evolution of the existing federal government under PM Stephen Harper, which has become much more “centrist” in a natural move of adaption, survival, and popular appeal to a broader and diverse range of voters.
I still believe he’s the best prime minister we’ve had in decades, and it is only the most sadistic and perhaps jealous who continue to incite hatred and resentment toward him, in an unsuccessful quest to dig up dirt where it doesn’t exist. Even the infamous “hidden agenda” failed to materialize. Our financial institutions are stable and Canada’s ranking in the world has been enhanced and respected during Harper’s steady-as-she-goes tenure.
Now the same egregious process is happening with Tim Hudak over the upcoming Ontario election, and he has even disclosed his personal integrity by pledging to “step down” if his plan doesn’t work. I hope he gets in if only for the sole reason of exposing the truth on the cruddy dealings of the Wynne-McGuinty Gate affair. As a friend of mine has said, “If the people of Ontario are stupid enough to vote them back in, then they deserve to go down the tubes.” Well, the “they” is “us”, and I hope we’re smarter than that.
