Momentum Choir, a group of 50 singers with developmental disabilities is ready once again to wow audiences during two year-end concerts, Sunday, May 12 at 3 p.m. and Wednesday, May 15 at 7 p.m. at Bethany Community Church, 1388 Third Street Louth, St. Catharines.

Over the past year Momentum has packed numerous concert halls, auditioned for Canada’s Got Talent and recently, sang in Ottawa.

Momentum Choir was in The House, and their voices carried high over Ottawa’s Parliament Hill in a concert that rocked the Rotunda and brought national attention to the 50 professional singers that share their passion for singing.

They are blazing a trail for unique artists to be embraced on the professional stage.

Last year Momentum raised the roof at Bethany and they are planning to do the same this year with another profoundly emotional musical experience.

They will be performing favourites from the Lumineers to Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, and the Momentum theme song – See Me As Me.

Now in its sixth season, Momentum continues to inspire audiences and break new ground as a powerful and professional platform where disability takes a back seat as soon as the music begins.

“To hear them sing is a profound emotional experience,” said Executive and Artistic Director Mendelt Hoekstra. “The future is open for Momentum because this is a group and segment of Canada that can really inspire this country.”

The cost is $10 per person or $25 per family or group home. Tickets are available at the door or online at www.eventbrite.com .
