You Are Invited To A Niagara-Wide Forum – Developing A ‘Niagara Aging Strategy’

Event: Information Forum and Interactive Workshop

Date: Monday, April 8, 2013. Time: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: Welland Community Wellness Complex, 145 Lincoln St., Welland, Ontario.niagara age friendly

Presentations and collaborative work of the forum will include:   

  • “Building a Master Aging Plan – the Brantford/Brant County Experience” – Jean  Kincaid & Lucy Marco, Grand River Council on Aging
  • How outcomes of the Niagara Age-Friendly Community Initiative (2010 – 2013) and other Seniors Health & Wellness frameworks can inform an Aging Strategy for Niagara (attached is a summary sheet about the Niagara Age-Friendly Community Initiative). 
  • Facilitated collaborative work to provide ideas about developing an Aging Strategy & Action Plan.  This Strategy would guide Niagara community partners in taking action to become more responsive to Niagara’s seniors as they age.

    The way health care is going, I think the Niagara Aging Strategy is death.
