And the Ontario Health Coaltion’s hopes you will show your support for quality, accessible hospital services for all Niagara residents by attending this rally, to take place Monday, March 4 at the Welland Arena at 501 King Street in Welland, Ontario.

Ontario’s Liberal government is cutting billions of dollars from the health care you and your family count on.
Ontarians are paying the price for years of the deepest tax cuts in the country, by curtailing health funding by $3 billion.
These tax cuts are for the wealthiest and for the corporations.
That’s billions in real dollar cutbacks – this year and for the next four years if we don’t stop them.

Niagara Region facing severe cuts and major hospital restructuring
- Niagara Health System must make $13 million in cuts
- Closure of emergency departments and operating rooms in Fort Erie and Port Colborne
- Some operating rooms in Welland, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls Hospitals are to be closed for 6 weeks
- Calls for the closure of maternity and pediatric wards in Niagara Falls
- Closures slated for in-patient mental health services, children’s health, maternity services and in-patient women’s health issues at the Welland Hospital
- Recommended total closure of 5 community hospitals in the Niagara Region
- All across Ontario hundreds of hospital beds are being closed down.
Patients are lined up on stretchers in hallways.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
