Hunger is a vital issue. In order for humans to be able to focus on enhancing their personal life they must satisfy their basic needs which include but are not limited to water, food, and shelter.
In the Community and Justice Services (Correctional Worker) program at Niagara College, our Professors Michelle Swaerdens and Terry Holub encourage us be active in our community and support those in need.
A very important part in assisting a person better their life is to help them be able to take care of all their basic needs on their own.
One of our assignments is to fundraise for the Out of the Cold program hosted by Harvest Kitchen in Welland. We will host an All-You-Can-Eat pasta dinner at Casa Dante in Welland on Saturday, November 10th from 6 PM.
The dinner will include pasta with meatballs, bread, salad, coffee, tea and dessert. Tickets are $20 and include two raffle tickets; they are available in advance through Zainab Elghul at zelghul@hotmail.com and will also be sold at the door. Raffle prizes include wine tasting for two from Trius Winery at Hillebrand in Niagara-on-the-Lake, natural skin and hair products from Kare & Hope Inc (FaceKare and HairKare), two $25 gift cards from Mary Kay and many more.
Any support is greatly appreciated; if you would like to donate please contact Zainab Elghul at zelghul@hotmail.com. Corporate sponsors will be recognized at our fundraiser as a sign of appreciation for their generosity.
We hope that you can all join us on November 10th to support this worthy cause.
