“They have the money but we have the people. … This is your movement.” – U.S. Senator & Presidential Hopeful Bernie Sanders
Posted March 14th, 2016 on Niagara At Large
A Brief Foreword by NAL publisher Doug Draper
On the editorial page of this March 14th’s Globe and Mail – that’s Canada’s equivalent to The New York Times for our American readers and neighbours who may not know – is a cartoon showing Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S. President Barack Obama walking in the sunlight on the White House lawn.
In the background, the cartoon depicts dark storm clouds rolling in with the faces of Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and other presidential candidates etched into the clouds, along with a caption that reads; “but tomorrow is another day.”
Also etched into those clouds is the face of Bernie Sanders – one candidate I don’t believe belongs there – but Trump and Cruz (the two now most likely to win the Republican nomination) certainly do.
If Trump or Cruz or anyone else who shares their extremist, right-wing views becomes the next occupant of the White House, Americans, Canadians and others around the world who share a vision for peace, tolerance and a carbon-free, more fair and prosperous future for everyda people may have to kiss that vision goodbye.

Forget about fighting climate change and start building the Keystone pipe, and uncork more champagne for the wealthiest one per cent!
That is why Niagara At Large has made an editorial decision to support the campaign of Senator Bernie Sanders to become the Democratic nominee to run for President of the United States.
For Americans and Canadians who believe that addressing climate change has to be a top priority and who believe that it is about time everyday people got a fairer shake after decades of seeing more and more of the wealth go to a few at the top, the best person we could have in the Oval Office working with the new Trudeau government north of the border is Bernie Sanders.
So here is some information from the people running the Buffalo for Bernie Sanders campaign office on how, when and where people in Western New York and, yes, across the border in Niagara, Ontario can get engaged and volunteer their time to help in his race for the White House.
