Some Great March Break Activities At Ontario’s Niagara Parks

Niagara Falls, Ontario, March 2014 – The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) has put together a great lineup of activities for visitors and families this March Break holiday. Come out and enjoy all that Niagara Parks has to offer, including: 

Swamp Creatures Exhibit at the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory – 2405 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, Ontario

This new family-friendly educational exhibit features animals from the world’s wetlands. Zoo educators will be on site daily until May 11 (except Wednesdays) to lead captivating educational programs and interactive sessions for visitors.

 The Swamp Creatures exhibit will include species such as: Cuvier’s Dwarf Caiman, Dumeril’s Monitor, Alligator Snapping Turtle, Stinkpot Turtle (indigenous), Pink Salmon Bird-eating Tarantula, Bullfrog, Budgett’s Frog, Norwegian Rats, Green Anaconda, Yellow Anaconda and the Malaysian Blood Python.

•        Journey Behind the Falls – Celebrating 125 years in 2014, this attraction gets you as close as you can get to mighty Niagara Falls. For those who have never experienced the Falls during the winter, the amazing ice formations in the Niagara River are a must see as we count down the days to the spring thaw!

•        Niagara’s Fury – Discover the ancient story of Niagara Falls, then re-live the exciting experience at Niagara’s Fury! The whole family will love this incredible adventure

A Cuviers Dwarf Caiman, known to be the smallest species of crocodile in the world, is also among the reptiles you will meet at the Swamp Creatures exhibit at Niagara Parks' Butterfly Conservatory.

•        Swamp Creatures Display – March 8 – 10 & March 14 -15 daily from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Zoo Educators from Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo will also be onsite at the Table Rock with a few of their reptile friends including Boa Constrictors and Tortoises.

•        1812 Heritage Exhibit – Daily from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Costumed interpreters will share stories of the War of 1812, while heritage displays provide information on upcoming battle reenactments and special events planned for the final year of the Bicentennial commemorations of the War of 1812 – don’t forget your camera! 

•        Pop & Lolly’s Candy Shop – Candy Making Demonstrations – Daily at 1 p.m.

Niagara Parks has some sweet surprises in store for you. Amid the sparkling, vibrant colours and wide selection of sweets, you can join our confectionery chef and help create your own specialized treat. Pop & Lolly’s offers a wide selection of candy and gifts from traditional favourites to unique containers ready to fill from our colorful wall of bulk candy.

Annual Spring Display at the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse – 7145 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, Ontario – Open daily from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Looking for an early taste of spring? Visit the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse, just south of the Falls, featuring a seasonal display of the beloved Cullen Miniatures Collection. The warm and serene setting is bursting with gorgeous blooms, orchids and exotic tropical plants as well as beautiful songbirds. Admission: $5 adults 13+; $3.75 children 6-12, and children 5 and under free. Season pass upgrades are available for an additional $5 and parking is also $5.

Niagara Falls Wonder Pass

To obtain the best value for your family adventure this March Break, the Niagara Falls Wonder Pass includes admission to The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory (including Swamp Creatures Exhibit admission), Journey Behind the Falls and NPC’s Niagara’s Fury attractions.
