A Brief Message from Doug Draper at Niagara At Large

For many years now, my wife and I have crossed the border to Buffalo to enjoy its great St. Patrick’s Day Parade (back on track and scheduled for this coming Sunday, March 20th at 2 p.m.), even though my Italian-born wife and I hardly share enough Irish blood between us to wet the bottom of a thimble.
That doesn’t stop us from pinning on these great big “Irish for a Day” button and celebrating the contribution so many Irish immigrants have made to life in Canada and the United States.

So we honour Irish Canadians and Irish Americans again this year as so many of us also share our prayers and our support to the people of Ukraine.
St. Patrick’s Day, after all, offers one more opportunity to come together and celebrate the strength we share in diversity.
