Bernie Sanders To Supporters Everywhere On ‘Where Our Political Revolution Goes From Here’

Our work will continue in the form of a new group called Our Revolution

A Message from Vermont Senator & Progressive Movement Leader Bernie Sanders

(A Brief Postscript from Niagara At Large publisher Doug Draper – Niagara At Large keeps posting news and commentary about Berne Sanders because we know that many Canadians – particularly younger Canadians – have become as engaged as millions of their American neighbour’s in Bernie’s progressive agenda for improving the lives of everyday people.

In fact, campaign workers at the Bernie Sanders Buffalo, Office told me earlier this year that a number of Canadians offered to volunteer in knocking on doors in Western New York for Bernie during this past winter and spring’s election primaries.

Why?

Because they share the view I do that if Bernie can succeed in his efforts to bring in a livable, minimum wage, make post-secondary education affordable for everyone and in other areas that would make life better for the 99 per cent – if he can replace trade_sandersthe disastrous Trans-Pacific Partnership (TTP) trade deal, which was also negotiated with the former Harper government in Canada and which might still be signed by the Trudeau government, with a trade agreement that protects decent paying jobs at home, then there will be more pressure on governments in Canada to follow suit.

That is why it is great to hear that Bernie has every intention to continue the “political revolution” he encouraged and drew such widespread support for during his run for the U.S. presidency.

Now here is Bernie Sanders message to supporters everywhere.)a future to believe in

Our campaign has always been about a grassroots movement of Americans standing up and saying: “Enough is enough. This country and our government belong to all of us, not just a handful of billionaires.”

I just finished speaking at the Democratic National Convention, where I addressed the historic nature of our grassroots movement and what’s next for our political revolution.

I hope that I made you proud. I know that Jane and I are very proud of you.

Our work will continue in the form of a new group called Our Revolution. The goal of this organization will be no different from the goal of our campaign: we must transform American politics to make our political and economic systems once again responsive to the needs of working families.

We cannot do this alone. All of us must be a part of Our Revolution.

Join Our Revolution and help continue our critical work to create a government which represents all of us, and not just the 1 percent – a government based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice. Add your name here.

When we started this campaign a little more than a year ago, the media and the political establishment considered us to be a “fringe” campaign. Well, we’re not fringe anymore.

Still 'Feeling The Bern'. Bernie's supporters are not going away.

Still ‘Feeling The Bern’. Bernie’s supporters are not going away.

Thanks to your tireless work and generous contributions, we won 23 primaries and caucuses with more than 13 million votes, all of which led to the 1900 delegates we have on the floor this week at the Democratic convention.

What we have done together is absolutely unprecedented, but there is so much more to do. It starts with defeating Donald Trump in November, and then continuing to fight for every single one of our issues in order to transform America.

We are going to fight to make sure that the most progressive platform in the history of the Democratic Party becomes law. This means working for a $15 federal minimum wage, fighting for a national fracking ban, and so many more progressive priorities.

The political revolution needs you in order to make all this happen and more.

Add your name to say that you will join Our Revolution and be part of the fight for our progressive vision for America.

Thank you for being a part of the continued political revolution.

In solidarity,

Bernie Sanders

It is sinful to realize that in this country where Tommy Douglas fought to enact Universal Health Care that we have politician bent on returning this wondrous safety net back into the hands of unscrupulous for profit Corporate carpet baggers whose only goal is their personal remuneration and the support of the equity holders who profit in the way of increased dividends.
This is just one of the priorities in Bernie Sanders platform for the Revolution Group to fight for and in time enact into law.
I constantly hear the BLUE COLLARED of Canada cannot manage this country that only the CORPORATE COMMUNITY CAN…….. Yet I look to the recent ratings of the UN where Social Democratic Countries such as SWEDEN, DENMARK, NORWAY and FINLAND ranked one to four as the most progressive and economical sound countries in the world. Canada ranked 13th and the U.S.of A. ranked 25th.
Bernie Sanders knows and believes in the value of a Social Democratic government, a government that enacts and engages the peoples in true “DEMOCRACY” . Most Corporate Governed countries place their priority in the Bottom Line on a Profit and Loss Statement and the people are nothing more than pawns to be used and if necessary abused to enhance profitability for the 1%
The DNC did everything in their arsenal of corruption to make certain that Hillary Clinton would be the Democratic banner carrier in the 2016 election and this reeked to high heaven especially in a country that defines, blusters and makes a big deal out of flag waving, honesty and bull shit.
Thank You Bernie your spark lit the flame that so many of the 1%ers detest and the Blue Collared will someday revolt and take back their country.

Yahoo Bernie! He has made a significant crack in the big protective Washington security wall. I hope he can engender a demolition derby and flatten it (like the Berlin Wall) so the American people can demand and actually see some results.

JOSEPH – Well said!!!!!!!! We cannot allow Canada to backslide when others are trying to go forward. We should be an example. That has always been a matter of justified pride for us. BLUE COLLARS, menial labourers and farm and factory workers built this country and every other country.

A little off topic but related, although I find some of it a bit too idealistic, I recommend Michael Moore’s “Where to invade next”. Just a few examples – Places like Italy leave us in the dust with social benefits and are still very competitive and productive while living “La dolce vita”. Slovenia has free university and American students are moving there. The only bank not to go “tits up” in Iceland was run entirely by women who were more prudent in their choice of investments and the male hucksters responsible for their banking fiasco were jailed (In the US banks were bailed out by the taxpayers and none were ever prosecuted). School meals in France were gourmet (and yet less costly) with emphasis on teaching good dietary practices while Reagan considered ketchup a vegetable. While he didn’t show the dark sides of many countries, it did illustrate how societies can thrive by being altruistic and not based on corporate greed. There are more of “us” than “them” and it’s time for Bernie’s “revolution”. It can happen but we have to collectively get off our lazy butts, get involved and educate ourselves past the propaganda.

Bernie’s quote encapsulates the ideal perfectly.
